Scritti Politti are reissuing their 1982 debut album, Songs to Keep in mind. A remastered model of the report, which is at present unavailable on streaming and has been out of print on vinyl since 1985, arrives April 10 through Tough Commerce in digital, LP, and CD codecs.
Of the reissue, Tough Commerce founder Geoff Travis stated in an announcement:
Inexperienced Gartside, Scritti Politti’s frontman and songwriter, recorded Songs to Keep in mind with bassist Nial Jinks, drummer Tom Morley, and a set of visitor musicians. The report’s three singles—“The Sweetest Lady,” “Faithless,” and “Asylums in Jerusalem / Jacques Derrida”—all charted within the UK. The brand new version was remastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Highway.
