South Korean indie rock four-piece Silica Gel have tapped Japanese Breakfast’s Michelle Zauner for a brand new track titled “NamgungFefere.” “This was the primary time I’ve ever written lyrics in Korean,” Zauner shared in a press assertion. “Anybody who’s aware of my work is aware of how a lot my Korean heritage has come to imply to me, so it was very private to collaborate with such a revered Korean band and to create one thing for a bigger Korean viewers.” Watch the music video for “NamgungFefere,” directed by Jan’ Qui, under.
Zauner has stored busy since releasing her newest Japanese Breakfast LP, For Melancholy Brunettes (& Unhappy Ladies), in March. She’s shared music movies for the album tracks “Image Window” and “Winter in LA,” coated Gorillaz’s “On Melancholy Hill” throughout her Coachella 2025 set, and contributed a track to the soundtrack for Celine Track’s new movie Materialists. Zauner’s ongoing worldwide tour will return to North America in August.
