J. Cole’s perpetually teased seventh studio album is now official. The Fall-Off—no, I don’t know why the hyphen is there both—drops February 6.
Cole’s announcement arrives with a teaser trailer that includes the rapper going about his day by day routine—consuming meals, hanging within the park, washing his Lamborghini Urus—whereas an unnamed narrator talks concerning the ups and downs of fame:
In 2024, Cole launched May Delete Later, a mixtape that originally included “7 Minute Drill,” a diss monitor about Kendrick Lamar. The track was a response to Lamar’s explosive verse on “Like That,” which ignited the now-infamous feud between the Compton raper and Drake. “I’m so happy with that mission, apart from one half,” Cole stated after deleting the track. “It’s one a part of that shit that make me really feel like, man, that’s the lamest shit I ever did in my fucking life.”
In 2025, Cole ended his long-running Dreamville Competition. His final studio album was 2021’s The Off-Season. You’ll be able to try the paintings for The Fall-Off under.
