On the 2025 Inventive Arts Emmys final weekend (September 7 and eight), Christopher Lennertz took residence the award for Excellent Authentic Music and Lyrics for his music “Let’s Put the Christ Again in Christmas” from The Boys. He beat out fellow nominees Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for “The Ballad of the Witches’ Street” (Agatha All Alongside), Nicholas Britell and Tony Gilroy for “We Are the Ghor (Planetary Anthem)” (Andor), Adam Sandler and Dan Bulla for “Adam Sandler’s Tune: 50 Years” (SNL50: The Anniversary Particular), and Sean Douglas, Kristen Wiig, and Josh Greenbaum for “Harper and Will Go West” (Will & Harper). It’s Lennertz’s first Emmy Award and third nomination.
Lennertz’s award is to not be confused with Excellent Music Composition for a Collection (Authentic Dramatic Rating), which Theodore Shapiro gained for Severance, nor Excellent Music Composition for a Restricted or Anthology Collection, Film, or Particular (Authentic Dramatic Rating), which went to Mick Giacchino for The Penguin.
