Patti Smith is reissuing her seminal 1975 debut album Horses to have a good time its fiftieth anniversary. The newly remastered version arrives October 10 in 2xLP and 2xCD codecs through Legacy Recordings. It consists of alternate takes of album tracks, Smith’s unique 1975 audition tape for RCA, and 4 beforehand unreleased songs: “Distant Fingers,” “The Hunter Will get Captured by the Sport,” “We Three,” and “Snowball,” the latter of which is out at present. Smith is about to publish the memoir Bread of Angels on November 4. Within the autumn, she’ll embark on a string of tour dates performing Horses in its entirety throughout Europe, the UK, and america. As a part of the Soundwalk Collective alongside Philip Glass and Mulatu Astatke, Smith put out two albums, The Peyote Dance and Mummer Love, in 2019.
