New Mixes From Frankie Knuckles, Andrew Weatherall, and More Unearthed for Resident Advisor Series: Listen

Resident Advisor is celebrating the 1,000th installment of its RA Podcast by sharing beforehand unreleased mixes from late digital music icons Frankie Knuckles and Andrew Weatherall. The Knuckles music comes from two mixes from his private archives, recorded in 1989 and 1996. Weatherall’s set—a B2B with DJ Harvey—was captured in 2012. And, together with the posthumous entries, Resident Advisor is sharing music from Bicep, Helena Hauff, Theo Parrish, and others. Discover the newly unearthed music beneath.

The RA Podcast launched in 2006. In an announcement, Resident Advisor’s editor and head of editorial, Gabriel Szatan, remarked, “Life in 2006 appears very far-off, a blur of MSN, MySpace, and minimal techno.” He continued, “When the sequence launched, there wasn’t any specific intention to rival the BBC Important Combine for longevity, influence, and breadth, however that’s kind of what occurred anyway. Having set ourselves the ambition of going 10 for RA.1000, we’re thrilled with the way it turned out.
